Health & Safety
& other guidelines
Before your appointment
*If you feel sick or were exposed to someone who is sick, we ask that you please contact your artist to reschedule
*If you have tested positive for Covid-19 within the last two weeks before your appointment you must reschedule.
*If within the last two weeks before your appointment you’ve been in large gatherings of people (ie:a wedding or concert) we ask that you contact your artist about rescheduling.
Make sure to bring your ID! Must be in the form of a current and valid State ID, Driver’s License, or Passport. Can NOT be expired. You must be 18 or older to get tattooed in the State of Illinois, no exceptions.
Ask your artist before bringing guests to your appointment, generally one guest per client is okay.
Avoid excess alcohol and caffeine the night before and morning of your tattoo.
Try to get a good night’s sleep, stay hydrated, shower and eat a healthy meal before your tattoo.
Wear clean, comfortable, loose fitting clothing that you won’t mind possibly getting stained by ink.
Wear layers; getting tattooed can make you feel extra warm or extra cold at times.
During your appointment
*Due to current easing of Covid-19 restrictions, masks are optional in the studio. This may change at any time as risk asessment and mandates change, and individual artists may require that you wear one during your session.
Starting a tattoo is a process and some steps come after you arrive. Please allow time after you arrive for us to finish setting up, adjust the drawing, make stencils, fill out paperwork, etc.
You may wish to bring a charger, headphones or a book to have while you wait.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions or let us know if a design needs some changes; we are happy to explain and want you to be comfortable and understand the process.
Drink water, have a snack and don’t be afraid to ask for a break if you need it.
Don’t touch your fresh/in progress tattoo! If you do on accident please don’t touch anything else and go wash your hands.
Please be respectful of the other clients and artists in the studio. If you want to watch videos or listen to your own music we ask that you wear headphones.
Make yourself comfortable; you can hang up your coat, have a drink, use the restroom. We want you to feel at home.
